If you have found your way to this page, it is likely that you are expecting and in that case: congratulations! This is such an exciting time for you and your growing family. I will be there to help you capture your little one during their first days of life in a beautiful and fun way. Being a mother myself, I am familiar with the delicacy of newborns and how precious and fleeting that time is. I hope to keep this time for you so that you can revisit it for as long as possible.

Newborn sessions are best taken at around a week old when the baby is still new and sleepy. Of course you can schedule a session after that time frame; a week old is just more easily posed. I would recommend that you contact me about a newborn shoot before your baby arrives - around the beginning of your 3rd trimester is best. There are no set days or hours, so availability is really here-and-there. Weekend availability is usually more sparse than week days.

Consultation and Session Fees

It is important to get to know you and what you would like for these photos, so all newborn sessions include an email consultation prior to the session date in order to go over the specific details of the shoot. During this time we can discuss wardrobe recommendations for any family involved. I ask that before for each shoot, the client fills out a Newborn Questionnaire so that I can familiarize myself with the people and personalities involved and gain a better understanding of the direction that you would like your session to go in. Once your session is booked, I will send you a guide to help prepare your baby for their first photo shoot! Session Fees include Photographer’s time and talent during the photo session, as well as after the photo session in post-production where I professionally edit the images that were taken during the shoot.

Portraits are taken in your home! It may seem like a bit of an intrusion, especially during such a whirlwind of time that is the first few days of your babies life, but at the same time, you don't have to worry about traveling with your new baby because I bring the studio to you! I have a  back drop* stand and back drops that I can bring to your house along with little outfits, tutus, bows, and wraps for the baby and lights to make a sort of portable studio in your living room. Requirements for that set up are a larger open space (at least 10ft. x 6ft.) with plenty of natural light (usually a front room, or family room, or sun room works best).

Any location further than 20 miles of zip code 19425 will be subject to travel fees based off the additional number of miles required to travel.

After Shoot

After a session, photos are then uploaded to a password protected, online gallery for the client to view and choose their favorites. I will email you a link to this gallery with a password to view and a PIN to download the images. It is asked that the client selects their photos within two weeks of the gallery being posted. This helps me keep up to date with editing and getting your final photos to you.

As an artist, I take pride in creating images that help set the mood of the scene. Each photo is carefully edited with professional editing software. I am happy to edit photos further upon request for an additional fee (ie. remove scars, blemishes, etc). If you have any questions about editing, please let me know.

I have four children and understand the need for safety around babies especially at such a vulnerable age. I am up-to-date with all current vaccines including the TDap and Flu vaccines which are recommended to have when around newborns. I also have Child Abuse Clearance from the state of Pennsylvania. I would never position or move your baby in any way that would harm them or make them (or you) uncomfortable.

*The backdrop set up is used for all newborn sessions except for the Very Simple Mini Newborn Session.
