I made plans with a family member to take family pictures for them. We settled on a location - a beautiful preserved land in our area. We set a time. All plans were in order. A few hours before I needed to leave to meet up with them, I thought to myself, "maybe I should check the hours of this place." You know. Just to really solidify all the plans and ensure there would be no surprises. I do not do well with surprises. I figured it would close at sun down or something like that. Like a normal park. But no... it closes at 5:30. A good hour and a half before our set time.
So I pivot. There is a park that I know well just down the street that I KNOW doesn't close till sun down. The family is flexible and agree to meet there instead.
And the shoot went beautifully. Their little boy, just over one year old, was a wanderer. I know his type well. It was a joy to watch him just want to see and touch and be everywhere. And those curls! Gotta love 'em.
